The key to the ultimate success of a treatment lies in the elimination of the root causes leading to the disease. At the Issels Medical Center all our treatment programs are designed for each patient individually and based on the comprehensive concept.
Each type of disease has certain features in common, and yet, every patient has his/her individual disease, whether it is called cancer, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, or whether it is any other chronic disease or immune disorder. What these diseases all have in common, though, is the impairment of the body’s natural mechanisms of regulation, repair and defense.
If we want to achieve healing, and not just suppress symptoms, we have to determine and eliminate as many underlying causes for the disease as possible. This is the healing strategy of the Issels Medical Center for any disease, including cancer.
In cancer, for example, the criteria of diagnosing and staging are the same for every patient. However, even if the histological diagnosis shows the same type of cancerous cell and the staging shows the same state of progression, every patient has his/her individual cancer as a result from many different combinations of causal factors ranging from inherited constitution and disposition to lifestyle.
Findings of modern research indicate that it is not only the type of cancerous cells that determines the course of the disease, but also the medium on which these cells grow, i.e. the internal bodily environment, and the power of the natural defenses against cancer.
Cancer cells develop in every human being, in fact in every vertebrate organism, according to L. Thomas and other researchers. However, not every newly produced cancer cell leads to a tumor, because the body possesses an immune surveillance, as part of the natural defense system, according to M. Burnet and others. An intact immune system and intact regulation of physiological cell death, called apoptosis, protect the organism from the development of a cancerous tumor.
We examine and treat each medical condition and disorder in the same thorough and comprehensive way as cancer -- we not only look at the obvious signs and factors, but also at deeper contributing causes and conditions, which are unique for every individual.
At the Issels Medical Center, we use specialized testing procedures to detect causes and preconditions that are known to lead to the impairment of the regulatory, repair and defense functions of the individual patient.
